Drum will not spin
Most often a worn drive belt, failed motor carbon brushes, or a door-lock switch telling the machine it is unsafe to spin. All three are inexpensive parts.
A washing machine that stops mid-cycle with a drum full of water is the most common call we get. Naveed Electronics repairs front-load, top-load and washer-dryer combination machines from every brand sold in the UAE, at your home, usually in a single visit. We have been doing it from the same Al Satwa workshop since 1996.
Find your symptom below. Each one tells you the usual cause, so you know roughly what you are dealing with before you call.
Most often a worn drive belt, failed motor carbon brushes, or a door-lock switch telling the machine it is unsafe to spin. All three are inexpensive parts.
A blocked drain pump filter, a coin or hairpin jammed in the pump impeller, or a kinked outlet hose. This is the single most common washing machine fault in Dubai.
Usually the door seal (bellows) has split, or the inlet hose connection has perished. Occasionally a cracked detergent drawer housing.
Every brand codes faults differently — an E24 on a Bosch and an OE on an LG both point at drainage. Send us the code on WhatsApp and we will tell you what it means before we come out.
Worn drum bearings, or shipping bolts never removed after installation. Bearings are a bench job; caught early they are far cheaper than a new drum assembly.
The machine is not reaching spin speed. Usually a drainage restriction, an unbalanced load sensor fault, or worn motor brushes.
Everything below is handled in-house by our own technicians, not subcontracted out.
Dubai's water is desalinated but still leaves scale, and over time limescale coats the heating element and narrows hoses. A scaled element takes longer to heat, uses more power, and eventually burns out. Scale also stiffens the pressure-switch hose, which makes the machine misread water level and stop mid-cycle. If your machine is over three years old and has never had a maintenance wash, descaling is usually part of the fix.
When we open drain pump filters in Dubai homes we find the same things every week: coins, hairpins, children's socks, and a compacted mat of lint and detergent residue. The filter is behind a small hatch at the bottom front of most front-loaders and is designed to be cleaned by the owner every few months. Doing that alone would prevent a large share of the callouts we attend.
A rumbling or aircraft-like noise on spin means the drum bearings are going. At that stage it is a bearing and seal replacement. Left for months, the failing bearing lets the drum wobble, which wears the shaft and can destroy the outer drum — and on many modern machines the outer drum is sealed, meaning the repair becomes uneconomic. If your machine has started roaring on the spin cycle, call before it gets worse.
An error code tells you which sensor is unhappy, not which part has failed. A drainage error can be a blocked filter, a dead pump, a split hose, a clogged pressure-switch tube, or a control board misreading the sensor. We use the code to narrow the search and then test the components, which is why we usually fix it on the first visit rather than fitting parts by trial and error.
We do not publish a fixed price list, because quoting a number before seeing the fault would be guesswork. Here is what actually moves the price, so you can judge whether a quote you are given is fair.
For washing machines, a drain pump, door lock, belt or motor brush set is inexpensive and covers the majority of callouts. An inlet valve or pressure switch is mid-range. Drum bearings and control boards are the expensive end — bearings because of the labour involved in splitting the drum, boards because of the part cost.
How it works in practice: you get a realistic range on the phone, then a fixed quote after diagnosis. Nothing is opened, ordered or charged until you approve that figure.
Call or WhatsApp with the brand, model and what it is doing. You get a realistic price range before anyone leaves the workshop.
A technician reaches you the same day across most of Dubai, carrying the spares that fail most often on your brand.
We diagnose on site and quote an exact figure. Nothing is charged until you say yes.
Most repairs finish in one visit, with a 90-day warranty on parts and labour.
Samsung, LG, Bosch, Siemens, Whirlpool, Indesit, Ariston, Zanussi, Electrolux, Beko, Candy, Hoover, Daewoo, AEG and Hotpoint — plus most other brands sold in the UAE, including built-in European models fitted in Dubai villas and apartments. Send us the model number on WhatsApp and we will confirm before you book.
We repair washing machines across Dubai, with scheduled visits to the northern emirates:
Switch it off at the wall and do not force the door. Most machines have a drain filter behind a small hatch at the bottom front; opening it will release the water into a shallow tray. If you would rather not, call us and we will handle it — this is one of the most common jobs we attend.
A drain pump clear, belt or door lock is at the cheap end. Drum bearings and control boards are the expensive end because of the labour and part cost. We quote a fixed figure after diagnosis and you approve it before any work starts.
It depends on the brand — codes are not standardised. Send the model number and the code to us on WhatsApp and we will tell you what it points at and roughly what it costs, before booking a visit.
Yes. Combo units have both washing and drying faults and often share a condenser system, so diagnosis takes a little longer, but we repair them regularly.
Almost always. Our technicians carry pumps, belts, door locks, seals and brushes, so most jobs are finished in one visit. Drum bearing replacement sometimes needs the workshop bench, in which case we collect and return the machine.
Yes, including levelling, connecting inlet and drain hoses, and removing the transit bolts — leaving those in is a very common cause of violent shaking on the first spin.
Call the workshop directly and speak to a technician, not an operator. Lines open 8:00 to 23:00, seven days a week.
