Gas cooker Repair Dubai

Gas appliances are the one category where a cheap repair is a genuinely bad idea. Naveed Electronics has repaired freestanding and built-in gas cookers across Dubai since 1996, covering burners, igniters, gas taps, thermostats, hoses and oven elements. If you can smell gas, turn the cylinder or isolator off, open a window and call us before you do anything else.

Common faults

What is yours
actually doing?

Find your symptom below. Each one tells you the usual cause, so you know roughly what you are dealing with before you call.

Burner will not light, keeps clicking

The spark igniter is wet, dirty, or the electrode has cracked. Sometimes the burner cap is misaligned. Constant clicking after the flame lights usually means a failed switch.

Weak, yellow or uneven flame

The burner jets are partially blocked, or the gas pressure is wrong. A yellow flame is not normal — it means incomplete combustion and should be looked at promptly.

Flame goes out after you release the knob

The thermocouple has failed. This is the safety device that keeps the gas valve open once it senses a flame, and it is a common, inexpensive replacement.

Smell of gas near the cooker

Stop using it. This is usually a perished flexible hose, a loose connection, or a worn gas tap. Turn off the supply and call us — do not test it with a flame.

Oven not reaching temperature

On a gas oven, a failed thermostat, thermocouple or oven burner. Baking that comes out raw in the middle is the usual complaint.

Knobs stiff or gas tap seized

The tap grease has dried out. Forcing a stiff tap can crack the valve body, which turns a small service job into a part replacement.

Gas cooker Repair Dubai —
what actually goes wrong

Gas work is not a DIY job in a Dubai apartment

Most Dubai kitchens run on either a piped supply or a cylinder in a ventilated cabinet, and both have connection standards for a reason. A leaking flexible hose in an enclosed apartment kitchen is a serious hazard, and hoses perish faster here because of kitchen heat. We check the hose date, the connections and the tap seals on every gas cooker visit, whether or not that is what you called us about.

Why burners stop lighting

The spark system is simple: a module sends a high-voltage pulse to an electrode, which arcs to the burner cap. It fails when the electrode is soiled with boil-over residue, cracked from thermal shock, wet after cleaning, or when the burner cap has been put back slightly off-centre after washing. A large share of ‘my cooker is broken’ calls turn out to be a misaligned cap or a dirty electrode — and we will tell you that rather than invent a fault.

The thermocouple explained

If your burner lights while you hold the knob in and dies the moment you let go, the thermocouple has failed. It is a small probe that sits in the flame and generates a tiny current, which holds the gas valve open. No current, no gas — which is exactly the safety behaviour you want. It is one of the cheapest parts on a gas cooker and one of the most common replacements we do.

Yellow flames and what they mean

A properly burning gas flame is blue with a small clear cone. Yellow or orange flames mean incomplete combustion, usually from blocked jets, a wrong jet for the gas type, or insufficient air. Beyond the sooty pans, incomplete combustion produces carbon monoxide, which is why we treat a yellow flame as a priority rather than a cosmetic complaint.

Pricing

What the repair will cost

We do not publish a fixed price list, because quoting a number before seeing the fault would be guesswork. Here is what actually moves the price, so you can judge whether a quote you are given is fair.

  • Which part failedThe biggest factor. Sensors, switches, seals and elements are inexpensive. Compressors, motors and control boards are not.
  • Genuine or compatible partOriginal manufacturer parts cost more and last longer. Where a genuine part is discontinued we tell you and let you decide.
  • Home visit or workshopMost repairs finish at your home in one visit. Bench work adds collection and return, quoted up front.
  • Built-in or freestandingIntegrated units take longer to remove and refit correctly, which adds labour time.
  • Age of the applianceIf a repair would cost more than about half the price of a new unit, we tell you to replace it instead.

For gas cookers, a thermocouple, spark electrode or jet clean is inexpensive and covers most callouts. A gas tap, oven thermostat or hose replacement is mid-range. A full oven burner assembly or control panel is the expensive end.

How it works: you get a realistic range on the phone, then a fixed quote after diagnosis. Nothing is opened, ordered or charged until you approve that figure.

Questions

Gas cooker Repair Dubai — answered

I can smell gas — what should I do?

Turn off the gas at the cylinder valve or isolator, do not switch anything electrical on or off, open windows, and leave the kitchen. Then call us. Do not attempt to find the leak with a flame. We treat gas leaks as an emergency callout.

Why does my burner keep clicking after it lights?

The spark module is not switching off, usually because a burner switch has failed or moisture has got into the control area after cleaning. It is not dangerous but it should be fixed, since the module runs continuously and eventually burns out.

My oven lights but goes out when I let go of the knob.

That is a failed thermocouple. It is the flame-safety device that keeps the gas valve open, and it is an inexpensive and quick replacement.

Do you repair built-in gas hobs as well as freestanding cookers?

Yes. We work on built-in hobs and ovens fitted into villa kitchens, including Ariston, Bosch, Siemens, Zanussi and Glem Gas, as well as freestanding and range cookers.

Can you replace the gas hose?

Yes, and we check the hose condition and date on every visit. Flexible hoses perish in kitchen heat and are one of the more common causes of a gas smell in Dubai apartments.

How much does gas cooker repair cost in Dubai?

Igniters, thermocouples and burner cleaning sit at the cheap end. Gas taps, thermostats and oven burners cost more. We quote a fixed price after diagnosis and you approve it before work starts.
